How to create a new Runbook in RBM
A Runbook can be created two ways:
- By creating a new Runbook from within an Event
- By Cloning an existing Event
Create a new Runbook:
- After creating a new Event, go to the Event Details page record and click on the Runbooks tab
- Click on the "New" button the right hand side of this screen
- A pop-up modal will allow you to give your new Runbook a name
- The Change type will be the same of the Change type of your Event, Planned Change, Disaster Recovery or Service Recovery
- At this point, you can choose to include a Pre-Imp Phase and a Post-Imp Phase. An Imp Phase will be created as mandatory. The Pre-Imp and Post Imp Phases are toggled on as a default but can be toggled off. Equally, you can add stages into these Phases at a later point
- Click the Create button and then refresh the Runbook listing page to see your new Runbook
- To go to your new Runbook, click on the Runbook id from this page
Clone a Runbook:
- A Runbook can be cloned by cloning an entire Event
- Go to the three dots more actions button on the right hand side of the Event details page and select Clone
- Once you have cloned an Event and all the Runbooks within, you can delete certain Runbooks from that Event, or follow the steps above to create and add a new Runbook to the Event
